The winning wines were selected by a jury of experts from over 300 wines. The best Pinot Gris was presented by the Braunewell winery from Essenheim in Rheinhessen with its 2023 KLOPP Grauer Burgunder trocken. The 2023 Schlossberg Weißßburgunder Großes Gewächs from the Württemberger Weingut Graf Neipperg in Schwaigern was crowned the winner in the Pinot Blanc category. The best Chardonnay in the DWI competition was presented by Weingut Wageck from Bissersheim in the Palatinate with the 2021 Chardonnay Am unteren Geisberg trocken.

The award winners received their certificates from DWI Managing Director Monika Reule and the German Wine Queen Charlotte Weihl. With her congratulations for the first-class wines, Reule emphasised: "The award-winning wines impressively demonstrate the international competitiveness of German white wines from the Pinot family. Together with the 21 other wines presented here, they also demonstrate the great stylistic diversity of these grape varieties, which appeals to a broad target group.
