Morio-Muscat

Morio-Muskat

The wine is particularly appreciated for its pleasant, not too strong muscat flavour, which is often paired with hints of lemon and elderflower. The strong acidity is typical of Morio Muscat wines.

The white wine variety was created in 1928 at the Institut für Rebenzüchtung Geilweilerhof by Peter Morio from a blend of Silvaner and Gelber Muskateller. It owes its first part of its name to the typical muscat note and Mr Morio contributed to the naming of the second part.
